Race morning is easier when you don't have to worry about getting across town. Our free shuttle connects the start/finish area in downtown Ann Arbor with the Relay Exchange Zone at Mitchell Field on Fuller Road, right along the Huron River. Relay athletes and spectators are welcome to ride.

Where to Catch the Bus

Huron St. and Ashley St., downtown, steps from the start/finish line and Athlete Village.

Shuttle Schedule

• 7:50 a.m. First bus departs Huron and Ashley for Mitchell Field.
• 9:00 a.m. Second bus departs Huron and Ashley for Mitchell Field.
• 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. After arriving at Mitchell Field, the second bus picks up athletes who have finished Leg 1, then loops between the start/finish area and Mitchell Field until 1:00 p.m.

Please note: The shuttle stops running at 1:00 p.m. Leg 3 runners arriving at Mitchell Field after 1:00 p.m. will need a ride from their wonderful teammates (or, at the very least, a rideshare they reimburse).

Relay Athletes: Which Bus Is Yours?

• Leg 1 (approx. 6.85 miles): You start with everyone at the official start line. Want warm, dry clothes waiting at the finish of your leg? Pack them in an official gear bag and have a teammate bring it on the 7:50 a.m. bus. When you finish, catch the shuttle back downtown.
• Leg 2 (approx. 6.25 miles): Take the 7:50 a.m. bus to Mitchell Field. Leave your belongings on the bus in an official gear bag, and they will be waiting for you at bag check in the start/finish area.
• Leg 3 (approx. 6.85 miles): No bus needed to start. Your exchange is at Ashley and William, on the east side of the street by the bank parking.
• Leg 4 (approx. 6.25 miles): Same as Leg 2, though you may prefer the 9:00 a.m. bus. Your choice! As you approach the finish, your teammates can join you so you cross the line together and all receive your medals.

Leg distances may change based on course modifications due to construction or other factors beyond our control.

Gear Bag Rules

• Only official Epic Races clear bags are allowed. Personal bags will be taken off the bus.
• All contents must be visible, so please don't stuff a gym bag inside the clear bag.
• Pick up bags at packet pickup on Saturday, at bag check on race morning, or on the bus.

Spectators: Come Cheer at the Exchange

Mitchell Field is a great spot on the course to cheer. You'll see relay handoffs up close, catch marathoners heading along the Huron River toward Gallup Park, and get to be the loudest voice your athlete hears all morning. You can also easily access other great spots from this location. Hop on either bus from Huron and Ashley, then ride the loop back downtown in time to cheer at the finish.
