Hello, %FIRST_NAME%!

We are having so much fun here at EPIC HQ getting all of the fine details together!

We are still recruiting a few more volunteers so if you have friends and family who will be joining you, perhaps suggest they sign up to be a course marshal or work an aid station. Register here to volunteer.

Did you know that last year only 1.6% of our trash was landfill waste? In an effort to do EVEN BETTER this year, we have purchased 2 "Water Monsters". They will be by the finish line and the food area. Please help us out by keeping the cup given to you at the finish line and refill when you need it. If you are so inclined, you can hold onto the cup given to you at the aid station, but we understand that may be more of a challenge. See last year's sustainability report below.

Looking for some extra support to reach your goal? Are you looking to run a personal best? The Puma Pacers will help you meet your performance goals!

We will have pacers for the 10K and 13.1 distances:

10K – pacers for :42, :48, :54, 1:00, 1:06, and 1:12 total finish time

13.1 – 1:35, 1:45, 2 hours, 2:15, 2:30 total finish time

How will I find the Puma Pacers on race day?

The pacers will be at the start line 15 minutes before the start of the race. This will give you a chance to talk to them, learn more about the plan for pacing, and ask any questions you might have. They will be holding signs with their goal pace and finish time and will be wearing a Puma Pacer uniform.

Why should I run with a Puma Pacer?

The Puma Pacers are set up to help you reach your goal time in the race. The pacers have been selected from a pool of applicants and proved themselves to be excellent at this job. These runners have volunteered to run with you, cheer you on, and inspire you to get to your goal.

How will I know which pace group is right for me?

The pace groups are assigned different finish times, to meet the goals of different runners. To determine your own goal time, use your past races, recent training runs, and current fitness. A good rule of thumb for beginners is to start at the pace of the longest run that you did during your race build-up. You can then accelerate during the later stages of the race if you find this pace is too easy. If you aren't sure how to match up your pace with your goal finish time, you can use this pace predictor to help choose your group.

There will be an aid station with water and Gatorade about every 1.5 miles for all distances. GU will be available at mile 6.5 and 19.5.

That's all we've got for you now... stay tuned for more Probility Ann Arbor Marathon news coming soon!

Be fit, be well, and keep smiling,
